Chris Gayle scores 109 off 100 balls as the West Indies beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in the triangular series in Jamaica.

Chris Gayle scored a century to help the West Indies to a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their triangular series match in Jamaica.

Sri Lanka set the home side a target of 209 to win, with Angelo Mathews and Mahela Jayawardene both scoring half-centuries.

Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers for the West Indies, claiming the wickets of Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara on his way to figures of 4-40.

In reply, Gayle was on the attack from the start, reaching 109 off 100 balls before Ajantha Mendis took his wicket.

Johnson Charles partnered Gayle at the crease as they made an opening partnership of 115 before the wicketkeeper was dismissed for 29.

Marlon Samuels hit the winning runs for the hosts, passing the Sri Lankans' total with more than 12 overs to spare.
