Chennai Super Kings defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad in last over

The Chennai Super Kings make it four wins out of five in the Indian Premier League thanks to victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sharjah.

The Chennai Super Kings have made it four wins out of five in the Indian Premier League thanks to this evening's narrow victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Sunrisers won the toss in the tournament's final match in Sharjah and had Aaron Finch largely to thank for the 145/5 total they posted from their 20 overs.

The Aussie scored 44 off 45 balls before he was bowled by Mohit Sharma in the 18th over.

Darren Sammy (23*) and Karn Sharma (17*) progressed the score in the final overs as the Sunrisers searched for their second win.

They couldn't get it though as the Super Kings won by five wickets with three balls remaining.

Much of the hard work was done by openers Dwayne Smith (66) and Brendon McCullum (40), who smashed seven sixes between them.

Wickets tumbled in the closing overs but Chennai were able to seal victory when MS Dhoni swiped to the boundary in the final over.
