Sri Lanka bowlers find form to restrict Pakistan in second Test

Tharindu Kaushal claims five wickets as Sri Lanka restrict opponents Pakistan to 138-10 at tea on day one of the second Test in Colombo.

Sri Lanka have restricted Pakistan to 138-10 at tea on day one of the second Test in Colombo.

The tourists headed into lunch on 70-2, but they struggled to build any momentum during a rain-affected second session.

Ahmed Shehzad and Azhar Ali both fell before lunch, while Younis Khan joined soon after for just six runs.

Mohammad Hafeez attempted to steady the ship, top scoring for his side with 42 runs off 75 balls, before the bowling of Tharindu Kaushal caught him off guard.

Pakistan's mood improved little, either, as Asad Shafiq (2), Sarfraz Ahmed (14) and Misbah-ul-Haq (7) all soon followed, with the latter being run out.

The wickets continued to fall, Wahab Riaz the next to go from the bowling of Kaushal who claimed a fourth victim.

Zulfiqar Babar (5) and Yasir Shah (15) were the last to go, each failing to really trouble Sri Lanka, leaving Junaid Khan 2* at the end of play.
