The visitors won the toss and chose to bat, going on to make 176-4 from their 20 overs.

Their top scorer was Umar Akmal, who hit 64 off 37 deliveries before he was caught by JP Duminy off the bowling of Dale Steyn.

Pakistan's innings was given a strong start by captain Mohammad Hafeez (63) and Nasir Jamshed (19), but they were then dismissed by Steyn and Aaron Phangiso respectively.

The visitors closed their innings with Shahid Afridi (13*) and Sohaib Maqsood at the crease.

South Africa's response saw them reach 58-0, with Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla at the crease. However, De Kock (26) was then caught by Jamshed off the bowling of Afridi after he knocked the ball into the air towards deep backward square leg.

Afridi was at it again minutes later, this time forcing Faf du Plessis (6) to pull his shot into the air. Mohammad Hafeez took the catch and Du Plessis walked after the third umpire confirmed that the ball had carried.

Afridi then struck for his third wicket of the match, hitting the stumps of AB de Villiers (13).

Hashim Amla was next to go, falling two runs short of a half-century when he was caught by Bilawal Bhatti from Saeed Ajmal's delivery.

Despite JP Duminy posting 47 not out, South Africa were just unable to reach their target of 177.
