A 137 from Faf du Plessis has helped South Africa to 505-7 at tea on day two of their second Test against New Zealand.
The 28-year-old secured his ton early in the second session of the day, before edging a Colin Munro delivery to Brendon McCullum.
The session was a good one for the home side, who added 115 runs to their total from lunch.
Dean Elgar could become the third Proteas batsman to go past the 100 mark in this innings, as he will resume on 91 not out.
Having batted for almost two days, South Africa's captain Graeme Smith will now be considering when to declare, and put New Zealand in for their first innings.
