Loss to Kent disappoints Somerset's Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle speaks of his disappointment following Somerset's T20 Blast loss to the Kent Spitfires, despite the fact that he scored 151 runs.

Chris Gayle has conceded that his knock of 151 runs counted for little during Somerset's T20 Blast encounter against the Kent Spitfires yesterday afternoon.

Despite the West Indies international posting the sixth highest ever T20 score, the home side fell three runs short of the 228-run victory target that had been set by the Spitfires.

Speaking to the club's official website, the 35-year-old said: "It was a great innings, but the one thing that spoilt it was that I was on the losing side.

"I thought it was a great match and both teams played well. The fans got entertained, but it was disappointing to lose by so few runs."

Gayle's score, which came off 62 balls, included 10 fours and 15 sixes.
