Yorkshire win the County Championship title for the first time since 2001 after beating Nottinghamshire by an innings and 152 runs.

Yorkshire have soared to the County Championship title by beating Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge this morning.

The team have secured their first title since 2001 after winning by an innings and 152 runs.

Jason Gillespie's side needed five wickets today to take the crown and they did just that in one hour and seven minutes, with Ryan Sidebottom taking four.

The 36-year-old was named man of the match after taking nine wickets overall, while Adam Lyth top-scored for Yorkshire by hitting 122 runs from 231 deliveries.
