Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the first Test thanks to an emphatic bowling display by Yasir Shah.

Pakistan have defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the first Test between the two nations, mainly in part to a brilliant bowling display by Yasir Shah.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 206 in their second innings, after being 132-3, with Shah taking 7-76.

The teams went in early for teawith Sri Lanka setting a target of just 90 runs, and when they returned, Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad hit 46 and 43 respectively to emphatically beat their opponents.

The hosts were 132-3 when Wahab Riaz ended the stand between Lahiru Thirimanne and Dimuth Karunaratne before lunch. Angelo Mathews got a contentious decision immediately after the break before the rest of the order collapsed.

The second Test will be at Colombo and starts on Thursday, June 15.
