Pakistan have started their huge run chase against South Africa, almost reaching their first-innings total before lunch.

Pakistan have started to claw away at the 480 runs they need to win the first Test in South Africa.

After bowling the visitors out for 49 in the first innings, South Africa declared their second innings on 275-3, leaving Pakistan 479 runs behind.

In reply, Pakistan have almost reached their first-innings total, making 47-1.

Mohammed Hafeez fell after just seven runs before Nasir Jamshed set about his task, making 39 off just 47 balls.

Jamshed is currently alongside Azhar Ali, who is on five, with Pakistan still needing to see out two-and-a-half days of batting to get anything out of this match.
