Martin Guptill hit a record-breaking, unbeaten 237 to help New Zealand post a commanding 393-6 from their 50 overs in their innings against West Indies.
Guptill surpasses Glenn Turner with the highest individual score for any New Zealander in a World Cup ODI, which dated back to 1975.
The Black Caps batsman also posted the highest individual score in a World Cup match, passing West Indies' Chris Gayle who scored 215 against Zimbabwe earlier in the tournament.
The 28-year-old reached 237 from 163 deliveries, hitting 24 fours and 11 sixes during his time at the crease.
Captain Brendon McCullum (12) only spent a couple of overs with the bat before being caught off the bowling of Jerome Taylor.
Kane Williamson (33), Ross Taylor (42) and Grant Elliott (27) all contributed to aiding Guptill in his innings but fell short in reaching their own milestones.
The West Indies bowlers managed to get six wickets from their 50 overs but none were able to claim the wicket of Guptill.
The batting masterclass from the Black Caps puts them in a commanding position with the ball and gives them a good opportunity of reaching the semi-finals.
