Bad light in Durban ends play

India add just 18 runs to their second-session total as bad light ends play early on day one at Durban.

Bad light has cut short day one of the second Test as India were looking to capitalise on two solid sessions earlier in the day.

India had reached tea with a commanding total of 163-1, but were only able to put on another 18 before the umpires deemed the conditions unplayable.

Murali Vijay started the third session as he finished the second, with some well-timed boundaries, but will have to wait until tomorrow to complete his century as he is left on 91.

He has been partnered well by Cheteshwar Pujara, who reached a 50 of his own just before the tea break. The Proteas bowlers will now have extra time to recover in order to start making inroads into the Indian batting order as the visitors come out for the new day on 181-1.
