South Africa have defeated England in the three-Test series to move top of the world rankings at Lord's.

South Africa secured the victory by 51 runs to win the series 2-0 and move above England - who were bowled out for 291 - as number one in the international cricket council's world rankings.

Jonny Bairstow was the first out in the afternoon session when he was bowled by Imran Tahir for 54 runs.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Trott followed Bairstow when he was caught by Jacques Kallis with 63 runs to his name.

Steven Finn walked to the crease in the final moments, but he was bowled out as South Africa claimed the victory to secure the title that England had earned with a 4-0 series win over India last year.
