Shane Warne: 'Kevin Pietersen axe is a joke, ECB a shambles'

Former Australia captain Shane Warne describes the ECB as a "shambles" for making the 'disgraceful' decision to axe batsman Kevin Pietersen.

Former Australia captain Shane Warne has blasted the England and Wales Cricket Board for calling an end to Kevin Pietersen's England career.

The batsman was dropped from the upcoming Caribbean tour and the ICC World Twenty20 yesterday.

After learning of the news, Warne wrote on Twitter: "I also just heard the sad news re KP that he has played his last game for England, to me it's a disgrace & a joke ! The ECB is in a shambles."

Pietersen's wife Jessica Taylor has also taken to the social networking website to slam accusations that the 33-year-old 'squared up' to England captain Alastair Cook.
