Jonathan Trott believes that the Kolkata wicket is starting to favour the bowling team.

Jonathan Trott has said that wear to the wicket in Kolkata will help England's bowlers.

Trott, Kevin Pietersen and Nick Compton hit half-centuries on the pitch, while Alastair Cook struck a 190, but Trott is optimistic that it will not be as easy to bat on in the second innings.

The 31-year-old told Sky Sports News: "The second new ball got a bit more bounce from the spinners when they got hold of it.

"It was pretty flat for the first couple of days. Now there's maybe a bit more turn, and variable bounce.

"I had a few that I left that kept low. If they'd been straight it would have been quite tricky."

England finished day three on 509-6, 193 runs ahead of India.
