Jonathan Trott: 'No talk of opening the batting'

Jonathan Trott doesn't think that he'll be moving up the batting order for England.

Jonathan Trott has said that he's had no serious discussions about opening the batting for England in their upcoming Tests against India.

Captain Alastair Cook will have a new partner at the top of the order following the retirement of Andrew Strauss.

Trott told BBC Sport: "There's going to be someone making their debut and whoever gets that spot will do a great job.

"There have been a few discussions but that's mainly with media people. There's not been much debate or talk about that in the dressing room."

Trott believes either Nick Compton or Joe Root are most likely to join Cook in opening the batting.

The first Test begins on November 15.
