Eoin Morgan: 'Approach more important than results for England'

Eoin Morgan believes that England's style is currently more important than results following a record-breaking win over New Zealand at Trent Bridge.

Eoin Morgan has claimed that England's style of cricket in one-day internationals is currently more important than results after they levelled the series with New Zealand.

England set up a series decider in Durham on Saturday by completing their highest successful run chase after the Black Caps had set 350 to win the fourth ODI at Trent Bridge, with Morgan and Joe Root both scoring centuries.

Despite now switching focus to the final match of the series, Morgan believes that the new-look side's long-term approach to limited-overs cricket is vital following a disastrous World Cup campaign earlier this year.

"The guys are pretty relaxed in the changing room and we're trying to keep things as raw as possible and concentrate on the process rather than the result and it seems to be working for us at the moment," he claimed at the post-match ceremony.

"I think the style is more important [than results]. We're trying to change something that probably doesn't come as naturally as other nations, and it's the way we play and it's very encouraging at the moment."

England have now scored 300 in four successive ODIs for the first time.
