The MCC World Cricket committee reveal their anti-corruption recommendations and call for life bans for cheats.

The chairman of the MCC World Cricket committee Mike Brearley has called for cheats within cricket to be banned for life.

Former England captain Brearley made the claims as the committee revealed their ten anti-corruption recommendations.

Brearley said: "There is a ruthless, insidious and dangerous underworld where a lot of money can be made by gambling on cricket."

Pakistan trio Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt were all jailed in November of 2011 after being found guilty of match fixing during the series with England last summer.

Although the ICC banned all three players for a minimum of five years last February, the MCC committee recommends 'lifetime bans for any captain, vice-captain or coach found guilty of corruption' and that minimum sentences should be removed.

Members of the committee also include England coach Andy Flower, Mike Atherton and Indian batsman Rahul Dravid.
