England bounce back from Saturday's heavy defeat to the West Indies by recording a nervy one-run win in the second T20 international in Bridgetown.

England have levelled the T20 series with West Indies after recording a one-run victory in Sunday's fixture in Bridgetown, the tourists almost inflicting yet another embarrassing episode upon themselves.

Eoin Morgan's team posted their fourth-lowest score at this format of the game on Saturday, another heavy defeat following on from the disappointment of the Ashes.

When England were put into bat for the second day running, there was a sense of deja vu, but that is as far as the feeling lasted as Jason Roy and Tom Banton put on 36 for the first wicket.

That quickly became 40-2 - Banton (25) and James Vince (4) - being dismissed, but Roy and Moeen Ali contributed 61 for the third wicket to take England to 101-3, Roy getting out for 45.

In trademark fashion, England wickets began to fall at regular intervals, although Moeen (31) and Chris Jordan (27) played their part in taking their side to 171-8 off their 20 overs.

In sharp contrast to 24 hours earlier, West Indies were quickly under pressure as Brandon King was out for a first-ball duck before Reece Topley - who took that wicket - finished off the run out of Shai Hope for just two.

West Indies rallied before Moeen and Adil Rashid dismissed Nicholas Pooran (25) and Kieron Pollard (1), and the home side could only reach the halfway stage of the innings on 55-4.

Moeen helped reduce West Indies to 98-8, almost certainly handing England the win, but Romario Shepherd and Akeal Hosein had other ideas in a remarkable show of power and resilience.

The pair put on an unbeaten 72 off 29 balls for the ninth wicket, hitting many of their nine sixes in the closing embers of the game to make England sweat unnecessarily.

Astonishingly, 29 runs came off Saqib Mahmood's final over, the final three balls being hit for six, and each of Shepherd and Hosein ended the game unbeaten on 44 and with a moral victory to boot.
