Stuart Broad: 'We need a big score from someone'

England need a batsman to make a "really big score" to give them the advantage in the second Test against Pakistan, according to Stuart Broad.

Stuart Broad has admitted that England need one big score from a batsman to take control of the second Test against Pakistan.

Joe Root is currently unbeaten on 76 for the tourists, who finished day two on 182-3 to trail Pakistan by 196 runs in Dubai.

After Cook's double century almost forced victory in the opening match of the series, Broad believes that the pressure is on someone to produce a similar effort over the next couple of days.

"We had a really good day," the seamer told reporters. "But tomorrow's a huge day in this Test.

"If we can get up to Pakistan's score or even beyond it, the pressure shifts to them.

"We need one guy to get a really big score like Cookie did last time, and everyone else to support him."

Root will resume on day three alongside Jonny Bairstow, who is currently 27 not out.
