Ian Bell "honoured" to have reached England Test century

Ian Bell admits that he is "honoured" to have reached 100 Test appearances for England.

Ian Bell has admitted that he feels "honoured" ahead of his milestone of 100 Test appearances for England.

The 32-year-old batsman will become the 12th man to reach the century mark for England when he features against Sri Lanka on Friday.

Bell has been touted as a potential replacement at number three for the absent Jonathan Trott, but he says that he is simply happy to play in any position.

"I'm really honoured," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I'll bat anywhere for this England side.

"I'm really happy at four. If I was asked to bat at three, I'd bat at three. It seems very quickly we've got a nice compact middle order, which is what you need at this level."

Bell reaches the landmark achievement 10 years after making his Test bow.
