Ian Bell has stressed the importance that there is not too much pressure placed on the shoulders of his England teammate Moeen Ali.
All-rounder Ali did his chances of claiming a place in the England team for next year's one-day international World Cup no harm last week when he hit a quickfire 56 against Sri Lanka A in a friendly encounter.
However, despite having acknowledged the 27-year-old's positive display, Bell has called for caution.
"We can't put a lot pressure on Mo to do that all the time. He had a great start, but if they bowl well he's got to adapt his game to that as well," Bell told the ECB's official website.
England play the first of their seven one-day matches against Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
