Samit Patel has insisted that England refuse to be whitewashed in their one-day international series against India.
England's hopes of winning the series were dashed yesterday as India won by five wickets to secure a 3-0 series lead.
However, the England all-rounder has said that the result will not dent their efforts.
"The series is finished but we're not going to go down 5-0," Patel told the ECB website. "We're telling each other we're not going down 5-0, or without a fight.
"To come so close and lose hurts even more. We thought we had the score. It's tough to swallow.
"We need to get back together as a unit. We're a close unit and we stick together no matter what. We have to keep doing that."
The series will continue on Sunday in Mumbai and conclude on Tuesday in Kolkata.
