Stuart Broad "proud" of plans for Michael Clarke

Stuart Broad believes that England can be proud of the way they have bowled to Australia captain Michael Clarke this summer.

Stuart Broad has claimed that England can be proud of the way they have bowled to Australia captain Stuart Broad during The Ashes.

Clarke's highest score from six innings in the series is 38, and some pundits have suggested that the 34-year-old could walk away from Test cricket at the end of the summer if his struggles with the bat continue.

England take a 2-1 lead into the fourth Test at Trent Bridge, which begins on Thursday, and Broad believes that their plans for Clarke have been key to their success.

"We've made it hard for Michael," he told reporters. "We talk a lot about him and are proud of the way we've bowled at him so far.

"We know how dangerous he is. He is such a key player for them and it's been going well so far."

Six Australians have more runs in the series than Clarke, who has managed to score just 94 in the first three Tests.
