England bowler Mark Wood doubtful for third Ashes Test

England captain Alastair Cook reveals that bowler Mark Wood is an injury doubt for the third Ashes Test at Edgbaston.

England captain Alastair Cook has revealed that bowler Mark Wood will undergo a fitness test before the start of the third Ashes Test at Edgbaston.

Steve Finn is waiting in reserve should the 25-year-old be ruled out of action tomorrow morning.

Wood has played in both Tests so far, taking a total of five wickets.

"With the weather today he couldn't bowl outside," Cook told reporters. "We're a little bit concerned about Woody. We are going to have to make that call tomorrow."

Wood made his Test debut for England earlier this year against New Zealand.
