Andy Flower refuses to commit to England

Andy Flower refuses to commit to England once his contract expires at the end of the Ashes series.

Head coach Andy Flower has once again refused to commit to England having come under scrutiny during their woeful runs of performances in The Ashes.

Australia brushed aside the tourists during the first and second Tests before winning by 150 runs in the third meeting in Perth on Tuesday to end a run of three straight defeats in the competition. Flower's contract expires come the end of the tour, but he is keeping his plans discreet.

"There are still two very important Test matches to be played and we look forward to the challenge of those and they will be very exciting to be part of," Flower said in a press conference.

"Obviously my role means that I have to plan ahead for the team side but personally I don't like looking too far ahead and quite frankly there are two Test matches left to play in this series and I want all my focus to be on those Test matches. I think that's the right thing to do for the England cricket team."

The fourth Test gets underway late on Christmas Day in Melbourne.
