Australia post 248 in first Twenty20

Aaron Finch hits a record-breaking 156 to put Australia in a commanding position in the first T20 against England.

After being put in to bat by England, Australia have set a target of 249 in the first T20 of the Ashes Twenty20 series this evening.

The tourists were helped by a record-breaking innings from Aaron Finch, who hit the highest international T20 score ever.

His incredible 156 off just 63 balls included 11 fours and 14 sixes as Australia finished on 248-6.

After David Warner had been dismissed for just one, Finch's partnerships with Shaun Marsh and then Shane Watson steered Australia to 226-3.

Once Jade Dernbach had bowled Finch, he quickly dismissed Watson for 37, before Steven Finn trapped skipper George Bailey lbw.

Dernbach then got rid of Glenn Maxwell, but the damage had already been done thanks to Finch's knock.
