Australia have reached 111-2 at tea on day four as they chase a total of 311 to win the opening Ashes Test against England at Trent Bridge.

The visitors began the session on 28-0 and they made steady progress before Shane Watson (46) fell victim to Stuart Broad lbw.

Chris Rogers was then given out for a possible nick to Matt Prior, but the batsman survived following a successful review.

Rogers went on to make his half-century, but Ed Cowan was dismissed just before the interval by Joe Root having hit 14 runs.

Captain Michael Clarke will join Rogers at the crease once play resumes.
