Delhi Daredevils beaten again in Indian Premier League

Delhi Daredevils are beaten for the third consecutive match in the IPL with an eight-wicket defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders.

Delhi Daredevils have lost their third consecutive match in the Indian Premier League with an eight-wicket defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Daredevils, who put themselves into bat first, hit 160-5 before the Knight Riders reached their winning target of 161 for the loss of two wickets and with around two overs remaining.

Kevin Pietersen's recent run of poor form at the crease continued when he was run out for six, but Quinton de Kock (10) and Murali Vijay (24) helped to increase Delhi's score at the top of the order.

Dinesh Karthik (36) and JP Duminy (40 not out) made sure that the Daredevils moved towards a competitive total, while Laxmi Ratan Shukla (10) and Kedar Jadhav (26) added valuable runs at the end of the innings.

Jacques Kallis, Umesh Yadav, Shakib Al Hasan and Sunil Narine shared the wickets between them for Kolkata.

Big knocks of 47 and 69 from Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir got the Knight Riders off to a positive start when it was their turn to bat, and they got over the line with 10 balls remaining thanks to Manish Pandey (23 not out) and Kallis (10 not out).

Wayne Parnell claimed the wickets of Uthappa and Gambhir for the Daredevils.
