David Warner and Chris Rodgers both register unbeaten half-centuries at lunch as Australia kick off day one of the fourth Test with India in solid fasion.

David Warner and Chris Rodgers both managed unbeaten half-centuries as Australia recorded 123-0 at lunch in day one of the fourth Test against India this morning.

The Aussies, who are leading 2-0 in the series, won the toss and elected to bat, with Warner and fellow opener Rodgers proving a formidable pair at the crease.

Rodgers completed the session on 52 after 94 balls, while Warner is 37 runs shy of an 11th Test century after clocking 63-74.

Shane Watson and stand-in captain Steve Smith are next in line to take to the crease.
