Ricky Ponting believes that his One-Day career is over after being left out of the Australia squad to tour the West Indies.

Ricky Ponting has acknowledged that it is unlikely he will play One-Day International cricket again.

The former Australia captain was omitted from the squad to tour the West Indies last week and believes that signals the end of his limited-overs career.

"You can only listen to what they (national selectors) said the other day and that's that the door is never closed on anybody, but I'm 37 and I'm not sure they'll let me back unless they have 10 injuries out of nowhere," Ponting said.

"I'm fine with it and I can't complain about the run I've had with the 370-odd games I've played - not many blokes have had a chance to do that."

Ponting is Australia's record run-scorer in both Test and One-Day cricket.
