Peter Siddle has agreed to join County Championship side Nottinghamshire as their overseas player.
As it stands, the Australian has no conflicting international commitments in 2014, so he will feature in Championship matches and 50-over encounters. However, he will not turn out at Twenty20 level.
"Peter was always our number one target and we're very pleased to have secured his services," director of cricket Mick Newell told the club's official website.
"He was very keen to join us and everyone that we have spoken to has endorsed him as a player and as a person. He'll add a lot of quality to our ranks, he'll be an excellent role model for the younger players in our squad and his wicket-taking ability will lift us."
The 28-year-old has taken 167 wickets in 46 Test matches for Australia.
