Australia coach Darren Lehmann has urged middle-order batsman Glenn Maxwell to play with more responsibility after his side lost the fourth one-day international against England on Friday.
Although the hosts were eventually beaten by 57 runs in Perth, Maxwell was singled out by his coach for giving his wicket away at a time when his team were in a strong position to chase down the tourists' target of 317.
He told reporters: "It was disappointing to lose five for 50 or whatever it was and fall short. So our blokes - and Maxwell - he's got to understand, we've got to play better cricket.
"We know he's got flair and excitement and we love that about him but we want him to understand the game better."
Australia play England in the fifth and final ODI of the series in Adelaide on Sunday.
