Australia have called up Brad Hodge ahead of the second Twenty20 international against England on Friday.
The 39-year-old, who has not played for Australia since 2008, replaces Moises Henriques in the squad for the game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Henriques will fly to South Africa to prepare for the Test series against the Proteas as Australia look to rest key players ahead of the clash with the top-ranked team in the world.
"I never thought this day would happen again and it's a pleasing day to wake up, the sun was shining this morning and I got the call from John Inverarity and it was a nice pleasant surprise," Hodge told reporters.
Hodge has played 209 matches in T20 cricket and averages 36.98 with the bat.
