Brett Lee will not feature in Australia's upcoming triangular one-day series against India and Sri Lanka after he fractured his foot.
The fast-bowler suffered the injury when he was hit by a ball during the eight-wicket defeat to India at the MCG on Friday evening.
The 35-year-old, who retired from Test cricket in 2010 due to a recurring elbow complaint, will remain on the sidelines for up to six weeks.
Cricket Australia team doctor Trefor James confirmed the break, revealing: "An x-ray has confirmed a fracture of the small toe and we now expect Brett will return to cricket in four-six weeks."
A replacement for Lee will be named after Australia's series opener against India on Sunday.
