Phil Hughes replaces injured Michael Clarke for Australia's one-day series

Top-order batsman Phil Hughes is named as Michael Clarke's replacement for Australia's one-day series against Pakistan next month.

Phil Hughes has been called on to replace Australia captain Michael Clarke in their one-day series against Pakistan next month.

Clarke was ruled out of the contest in the United Arab Emirates due to a hamstring injury.

The 33-year-old batsman picked up the problem during Australia's recent triangular series in Zimbabwe, which forced him to miss the majority of the tour.

Top-order batsman Hughes was originally overlooked for the one-day series, but was selected in the squad to play two Tests against Pakistan.
