India set winning total of 305 by Australia in first ODI

Australia post 304 runs from their 50 overs in the first ODI against India in Pune.

Australia have set India a victory target of 305 runs in the first one-day international in Pune.

The tourists' openers made it to 110 before Phil Hughes flicked Ravindra Jadeja's delivery to Suresh Raina three runs short of his half-century in the 19th over.

Down the other end Aaron Finch was past 50 when he saw another partner in Shane Watson depart for just two in the next over off the bowling of Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj was at it again when first he got Finch for 72 off 79 balls and then ran out Adam Voges for seven.

Glenn Maxwell (31) and captain George Bailey (85) were the Aussies' stars of the middle order and then came late flurries from James Faulkner and Clint McKay.

Faulkner's impressive knock of 27 off 22 balls came to an end in the final over when he powerfully struck Ishant Sharma's wide delivery to Vinay Kumar at extra cover.

McKay came in for the final few balls and, after starting with a dot, went four, six and one from the last three to take the tourists past the 300 mark.
