Former England captain Nasser Hussain has expressed his belief that Australia fully deserved their Cricket World Cup success.
Michael Clarke's men beat their fellow co-hosts New Zealand by seven wickets in the final to lift their fifth World Cup, and Hussain believes that they outperformed the Black Caps in every area in Melbourne.
He told Sky Sports News: "Today was about handling pressure and [Mitchell] Starc comfortably handled it, getting New Zealand's gun player out. It was a completely convincing performance from Australia - batting, bowling and fielding. Everything was absolutely outstanding.
"As a neutral, we'd have liked a closer game, but the moment Starc bowled that first over, he set the tone. Home advantage helped. Having said that, the margin of victory confirms that Australia were the better side, the best side in the tournament, and they deserve to win the World Cup."
Australia travel to England this summer for the 2015 Ashes series.
