Glenn McGrath: 'Australia will beat England 5-0'

Glenn McGrath believes that Australia will record a whitewash victory for the second successive Ashes series this summer.

Former Australia seamer Glenn McGrath has backed the tourists to record another 5-0 whitewash victory against England this summer.

The Ashes were regained in emphatic fashion when Australia eased to a series triumph the last time the two sides met, and McGrath is confident that England will find it tough to force any other result.

"I don't mind making the odd prediction here and there - and everyone expects me to say 5-0 - but I'm trying something slightly different this time because you don't want to just say the same old, same old - but Australia to me are up 5-0 already, so my prediction is 10-0 Australia," he told Sky Sports News.

"The Australian team is playing with a lot of confidence coming off a World Cup win and they have played well in the West Indies. But if any team wants to get to number one in the world they have to have a quality bowling attack and Australia have certainly got that."

The first Test gets underway in Cardiff next Wednesday.
