New Australia coach Darren Lehmann has insisted that David Warner will get a fresh start under his leadership, with the batsman in contention to start the first Ashes Test match.
Warner is suspended until the Ashes opener in Nottingham after throwing a punch at England batsman Joe Root in a Birmingham bar three weeks ago.
Despite being under suspension by Cricket Australia, Lehmann believes that Warner is showing the right attitude in training that will give the 26-year-old every chance of reclaiming his Test spot.
He told The Guardian: "I don't know what's happened in the past so for me he's got to do that [bring a good attitude] full stop.
"And he's not the only one, everyone in the squad's got to train that way. He's been the first there and last to leave, so I've been pretty happy with his preparation.
"[He starts] very much so with a clean slate. We can't control what's happened in the past."
Australia continue their Ashes preparations tomorrow in a tour match against Worcestershire, with captain Michael Clarke and Shane Watson both expected to start.
