Australia coach Darren Lehmann has paid tribute to Ryan Harris following the bowler's retirement from all forms of cricket.
The 35-year-old, who has been plagued by injuries for the majority of his career, made the announcement on Saturday due to a knee problem.
Harris was named in Australia's squad for the upcoming first Ashes Test against England in Cardiff, but he has now been replaced by Pat Cummins.
"I was lucky enough to captain Ryan as a grade cricketer, a rookie player and as a state cricketer. He was one of the most talented players I had ever seen," Lehmann is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"His never-say-die attitude was his signature as he left absolutely nothing on the field each time he played and I think that is something for which he should be incredibly proud."
Harris took 113 wickets in 27 Tests for the Aussies and claimed 44 wickets in 21 one-day internationals.
