Brad Haddin out of second Ashes Test due to "family reasons"

Cricket Australia confirms that Brad Haddin will miss the second Ashes Test against England at Lord's because of "family reasons".

Cricket Australia has confirmed that wicket-keeper Brad Haddin will miss the second Ashes Test against England because of "family reasons".

Haddin, 37, only briefly took part in training at Lord's today and earlier reports suggested that he would not feature in the contest which starts on Thursday.

He will be replaced by Peter Nevill, who is also Haddin's back-up at New South Wales and will make his first appearance for the Aussies in any international format.

Haddin had the highest average of any Australian batsman during the 2013-14 whitewash against England, but managed scores of just 22 and 7 in the 169-run first Test defeat in Cardiff.
