Ed McKeever accepts Usain Bolt comparisons

Team GB's Ed McKeever admits that he is more willing to accept comparisons to Usain Bolt following his 200m kayak gold medal.

Team GB's Ed McKeever has accepted comparisons to sprint superstar Usain Bolt after winning gold in the 200m sprint kayak final.

McKeever, who has been dubbed "the Usain Bolt of the water", had previously rejected the comparisons with the fastest man in history.

However, following his success, McKeever said that he is more willing to accept the moniker.

"It was a little bit frustrating watching everybody else medal for the first two weeks while we were sat in our hotel rooms watching," said McKeever.

"It's difficult to describe but there was almost a sense of relief crossing the finish line that I had done it and put a smile on the British faces.

"To be honest I ignored (the comparisons to Bolt) most of the time and just dismissed it. But luckily I have got a gold medal as well now so I am more willing to accept it."

McKeever's gold is Team GB's 26th of this summer's Games.
