British boxer Nicola Adams has secured a place in this summer's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The 33-year-old earned a win by unanimous decision over Norway's Marielle Hansen at the European qualifying tournament in Samsun, Turkey.

Adams, who won gold at London 2012, is the first GB boxer to qualify for the Games, which get underway on August 5 and run for 16 days.

Meanwhile, Ireland's Katie Taylor missed her chance as she lost to Yana Alexseevna of Azerbaijan and will now need to reach the semi-finals of the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in Astana next month.
