Dereck Chisora records easy win over Johnson

Dereck Chisora defends his WBO and WBA international belts with a comfortable points victory over American Kevin Johnson.

Dereck Chisora has continued his quest to earn a world title opportunity in 2014 with a comfortable win against Kevin Johnson.

The British heavyweight, who was defending his WBO and WBA international titles, dropped Johnson in the fifth round before easing to a unanimous points victory.

Johnson, who had never been stopped during his career, had been expected to provide a tough examination for Chisora, but he rarely offered anything that suggested the result was ever in doubt.

After a less-than-inspiring four rounds that saw Chisora miss with several over-the-top shots, he finally connected to send Johnson sprawling to the canvas.

The former world title challenger got to his feet, but while he had little problem in completing the fight, he never troubled Chisora during the second half of the encounter to allow the Brit to potentially set up a domestic showdown with Tyson Fury in the summer.
