Deontay Wilder "would love to fight" Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder describes Tyson Fury as an 'entertainer' and would be happy to put his newly-acquired world heavyweight championship on the line against the Briton.

Deontay Wilder has revealed that he would "love" to put his newly-acquired world heavyweight championship on the line against Britain's Tyson Fury.

Wilder beat Canada's Bermane Stiverne on points in Las Vegas on Saturday to claim the WBC title.

The 29-year-old is a big fan of Fury, who has won all 23 of his professional bouts and is the mandatory challenger for Wladimir Klitschko's WBO crown, and "can't wait" until the two entertainers meet in the ring.

"I would love to fight Tyson Fury. I think he's doing a good job of what he's doing in boxing," Wilder told reporters.

"As far as being entertaining, I think he's ahead of his business in the UK in entertainment and I think I'm doing the same in America. And I think that is going to be a big clash down the road.

"There's nothing like the big guys going at it. It's like a freak show, so I can't wait on that one. I can't wait for it."

Wilder, who is also targeting a unification fight with Klitschko, is the first American to win a world heavyweight title since 2006.
