Deontay Wilder: 'Johann Duhaupas will be a tough opponent'

Deontay Wilder believes that Johann Duhaupas will provide a "tough" test when he defends his WBC heavyweight title against the Frenchman on September 26.

American heavyweight Deontay Wilder has vowed to inflict the first stoppage defeat of Johann Duhaupas's career when they meet for the WBC title on September 26.

Wilder will make the second defence of the belt that he claimed from Bermane Stiverne in January, and the knockout specialist is confident of adding a 35th victory to his professional record.

The 29-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I know my opponent has great size and that is what we are looking for in opponents. He has a great record and he has never been knocked out - until he faces me.

"I know Duhaupas is tough and he comes to fight and that is exactly what we need."

If he can overcome the Frenchman, Wilder's next outing is likely to be against mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.
