Tony Thompson, Antonio Tarver keen to face Tyson Fury

American heavyweights Tony Thompson and Antonio Tarver both put their names forward to face Tyson Fury after Dereck Chisora withdrew from their scheduled bout.

A number of heavyweight boxers have been linked with a fight with Tyson Fury this weekend after Dereck Chisora was forced to withdraw from their scheduled bout with a fractured hand.

It is the third time in the space of 12 months that Fury has seen high-profile bouts fall by the wayside, but as social media went into overdrive over Chisora's withdrawal, American heavyweights Tony Thompson and Antonio Tarver both called on the Brit to face them at the Phones4U Arena in Manchester.

Thompson, who has twice failed to dethrone world titlist Wladimir Klitschko, is well known to British boxing supporters after recording successive stoppage wins over David Price, while Tarver, a former light-heavyweight world champion, is looking to make his mark in the heaviest weight class.

Shannon Briggs and Audley Harrison are outside contenders to step in at late notice, but knockout specialist Deontay Wilder is unlikely to be take Chisora's place, despite being called out by Fury on Twitter earlier this evening.
