Lee Selby: 'I need to deliver against Joel Brunker'

British featherweight Lee Selby believes that he will need to deliver a career-best performance to beat Joel Brunker on Saturday and prove that he is not "overhyped".

British featherweight Lee Selby has revealed that he is keen to prove that he isn't "overhyped" when he faces Joel Brunker at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night.

Selby's bout with the Australian is a final eliminator for the IBF belt, but the Welshman has admitted that he will need to deliver a career-best display to earn a world title shot in 2015.

The 27-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "This is the one to see if I really am a good fighter or I'm overhyped like some people have been saying.

"I believe that on my day, I can beat anyone. If I can take my best into the ring, I don't think that there's a featherweight out there that can live with me.

"I am not saying that based on my last performances, but in sparring and in the gym, I believe that if I can replicate that I will prove it, and I need to deliver that."

Selby has won 19 of his 20 contests in the paid ranks, while Brunker is undefeated in 27 outings.
