John Ryder motivated ahead of Billi Godoy fight

British middleweight John Ryder expects a tough examination against Billi Godoy at London's O2 Arena on Saturday night.

British middleweight John Ryder has revealed that he is expecting one of the toughest fights of his career against Billi Godoy on Saturday night.

Godoy has fought some solid operators during his 34-fight career, and with Ryder making just his 21st appearance as a professional, the Islington fighter knows that he will have to withstand a lot of pressure against the Argentine.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I think it's working out for the better. He's a much better fighter if I am honest and he's going to come to fight. He's got a much better record and he just looks more suited.

"Godoy is going go be hard and I have a feeling he will come out trying knock my head off. I think Saturday night is going to be a better fight all round."

A win for Ryder who see him move further up the WBO rankings, with the title currently being held by Ireland's Andy Lee.
