Scott Quigg focused on overcoming Carl Frampton

WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg says that he is fully focused on beating Carl Frampton in their unification clash in Manchester.

Scott Quigg has revealed that he is solely focused on defeating Carl Frampton in February, despite admitting that he is full of respect for the Northern Irishman.

The two world super-bantamweight champions will meet in Manchester early next year in what is widely regarded as the biggest fight in the division, and Quigg has indicated that he will not allow their mutual respect for each other affect him during his training camp and the bout itself.

The 27-year-old told Sky Sports News: "At the minute, he's my opponent, so I'm training to beat him.

"As a person, a family man, I have all the respect for him but at this moment he's my opponent and he's going to try and stop me becoming what I want to become.

"That's why he's my enemy at the moment. All I'm thinking of is beating him."

Quigg holds the WBA strap, while Frampton is currently in possession of the IBF belt.
